Beef Cattle


General cattle exhibitor information


Bedding: Mulch bedding will only be provided in tie-outs. Mulch will NOT be provided for either Open or Junior cattle exhibitors in the barns.

Tie Outs: Tie outs are assigned and only available for exhibitors who purchased them with entry. Mulch bedding is complimentary in tie-outs. You may top dress the mulch with shavings; however, NO STRAW PERMITTED.

Cattle Exercising: Exercising cattle is permitted only in the outdoor arena North of the Mustang Arena and the outdoor arena located south of the Expedition Barn. Cattle will not be permitted to exercise on the grass.

Fans: All fans must hang from the front of your stall with L brackets. No fans will be allowed to operate from any position in the center aisle or in the side aisle alley. No butt fans or port-a-cools permitted.

Generators: Generators are encouraged. All generators and fuel must be placed and operated outside of the barn.

Showmanship: Showmanship entries must have been completed prior to the show. You must check-in for showmanship at the beef office located in the Oklahoma Ford Dealers Barn 2 hours prior to the start of the competition.

Trailer Parking (New Location for 2024): Trailer parking will be located at 800 N 89th East Ave. The trailer parking lot is NOT an all-weather terrain. Please plan accordingly and bring a block for your trailer. Click here to view the map.


Open Beef Cattle & Junior American Breeding heifer Show Exhibitors


Beef Cattle Arrival: Exhibitors are permitted to bring tack on grounds beginning at 12 pm on Tuesday, September 24. All Open Cattle may begin arriving on Wednesday, September 25, at 8 am.

Beef Cattle Check In: The Breed Superintendents will be checking registration papers outside of the Beef Superintendent office located in Oklahoma Ford Dealers Barn. Check-in times will be as follows. Animals will not be allowed to check in after the check in time specified in the special rules.

Check-in Schedule:
  • Thursday, September 26: 12pm – 1pm: American Blue, Dexter, Texas Longhorn
  • Thursday, September 26: 1pm - 2pm: Open & Junior Beefmaster, Brahman & Brangus
  • Friday, September 27: 10am – 11am: Mini Hereford & Pre-Jr Mini Hereford,
  • Friday, September 27: 12pm – 1pm: Maine, Shorthorn, Limousin & Santa Gertrudis
  • Friday, September 27: 1pm – 2pm: Braunvieh, Charolais, Chianina, Gelbvieh, Red Angus
  • Friday, September 27: 2pm – 3pm: Angus, Hereford, Simmental & AOB
Release: Exhibitors must obtain a written release before retrieving your trailer or leaving the property with animals. Visit the Cattle Superintendent office located in the Oklahoma Ford Dealers Barn to obtain your trailer and animal release. All open cattle are released upon the conclusion of that days show. All open cattle must be out of the barns on Sunday, September 29 by 8pm.


Steer SHow Exhibitors


Market & Prospect Steer Move In & Arrival: Animals and tack may begin arriving on Monday, September 30 at 8 am. NO TACK permitted prior to Monday, September 30 at 8 am.

Steer Showmanship Check In: You must check-in for showmanship before 3pm on Monday, September 30 at the Cattle Superintendent office located in Oklahoma Ford Dealers Barn. You will be provided a t-shirt that must be worn during the showmanship competition.

Prospect Steer Check In: Weights for ALL prospect steers must be turned in by 5pm Monday, September 30. The QR Code on your back tag(s) will take you directly to the link to check in. YOU WILL HAVE TO PICK UP YOUR BACKTAG FROM THE CREDENTIAL STATION PRIOR TO CHECK-IN. Animals will not be allowed to check in after the check in closes.

Market Steer Check In: Weights for ALL steers must be turned in by 2pm Tuesday, October 1. The QR Code on your back tag(s) will take you directly to the link to check in. YOU WILL HAVE TO PICK UP YOUR BACKTAG FROM THE CREDENTIAL STATION PRIOR TO CHECK-IN. Animals will not be allowed to check in after the check in time closes.

Division Weight Breaks (New for 2024):
The maximum weight for a prospect steer is 1,099lbs. The minimum weight for market steers is 1,100lbs.

Junior Market Animal Residue Avoidance: Please adhere to the Tulsa State Fair's Residue Avoidance Policies located here.

Release: Exhibitors must obtain a written release before retrieving trailer or leaving the property with animals. Visit the Cattle Superintendent office to obtain your trailer and animal release. All steers must be out of the barns on Wednesday, October 2nd by 8pm.


Breeding Heifer Show Exhibitors


Junior Breeding Heifer Move In & Arrival: Animals may begin arriving on Thursday, October 3 at 8 am. NO TACK permitted prior to Thursday, October 3 at 8 am. Heifers must be in place by Friday, October 4 by 9am.

Breeding Heifer Check In:
  • Paper & Tattoo Check: Breed Representatives will conduct registration and tattoo check in on Friday, October 4 in the Mustang Arena at the designated time listed in the specific breed rules.
  • Commercial Heifer Weigh In: Friday, October 4, 10am – 12pm in the Mustang Arena.
